What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal program designed to help eligible Canadians access essential dental care. The plan provides financial support for certain dental treatments for individuals who do not have private dental insurance and meet specific income requirements. The program helps cover a portion of the cost for many common dental services.

Who May Be Eligible?

You may qualify for the CDCP if you:
  • Do not have access to private dental insurance
  • Have a family net income under the program’s eligibility threshold
  • Are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
  • Have filed your most recent tax return
Eligibility is determined by the Government of Canada through the application process.
